The maternal relatives of the late Imelda Tupi Tiamanda, who was brutally killed, allegedly by her doctor husband, have thanked Police Highway Patrol 17 in Kaupena, and those involved in saving and recovering her body.

The late Imelda was laid to rest yesterday at her Longo home, in Mendi Town.

She had died from a fractured skull, after being hit with a heavy, unidentified object.

Her body was discovered by police, wrapped up in a canvas sheet, at the back of the vehicle her husband, and two other men, were in.

Police at Kaupena had noticed their suspicious behavior.

They discovered the body, and immediately apprehended them.

Yesterday Don Kema, from Erave, extended their appreciation to the NAQIA officers at the Kaupena checkpoint, and High Way Patrol Officers who were on alert even past midnight.

Kema believes the rescuing, and arresting officers involved, deserve recognition from the hierarchy.
