MINISTER APPLAUDS POLICE WORK IN DRUG BUST

Police Minister William Onglo has applauded the inter-agency narcotic team for uncovering dangerous drugs and illegal guns from a hotel business man in Port Moresby last Friday. 

The team comprises of the Royal PNG Constabulary headed by Assistant Commissioner Donald Yamasobi, PNG Customs, including personnel from Australian Defence Force and the US Department of Homeland Security. 

According to reports the investigation team carried out an operation known as the operation Saki Bomb, which busted a meth lab in a hotel room in Port Moresby. 

Minister Onglo acknowledge all agencies involved in the drug and illegal gun bust and assured public and stakeholder that the Marape government will support amendments to the Dangerous Drug acts 1954 in the near future in order for RPNGC to formally charge offenders after been arrested. 

Meanwhile, Minister Onglo is encouraging the Royal PNG Constabulary and its partners to keep up the good work even though there are currently no laws for prosecution of offenders.
