Nursing Officers in Kiunga gain skills to train other health workers

10 nursing Officers in charge at the respective health centres and hospitals in Kiunga, Western Province were the proud recipient of Certificate III in Training and Assessment (Trainer and Assessor) during the presentation ceremony held at Rumginae Community Health Worker Training School on Tuesday this week.

 

The certificates were issued by Pacific Institute of Public Administration after successful completion of a one-month course in capacity training aiming to improve better health care services in the district as well as the province.

 

The participants were 4 nursing officers from Rumginae rural hospital, 2 nursing officers from Kiunga District hospital, 2 OIC’s from Catholic Health services and 2 CHW’s from Rumginae Training School.

 

The course has set a way forward for health practitioners to assist and train other health workers, in analyzing medical situations to apply proper treatment to patients at the hospitals, aid posts or health centres.
