Vice Minister for National Planning, and MP for Tewae-Siassi, Dr. Kobby Bomareo visited Kumul Telikom Holdings Limited (KTHL) headquarters today at the Telikom Rumana Building to present a cheque for K3.5 million which will go towards setting up telecommunications infrastructure in the Tewae-Siassi electorate in Morobe Province.

Dr. Bomareo was accompanied by representatives of the Siassi LLG District Administration and Morobe Provincial Administration and executives of his District Development Authority.

KTHL Acting CEO, Amos Tepi and KTHL Acting General Manager for Technical Services, Anthony Pakakota were on hand to receive the cheque and acknowledged the MP for taking the time to make the presentation in person.

Dr. Bomareo’s delegation will also be meeting with KTHL officials to explore various telecommunications services that they may be able to take advantage of, once the four new towers are available for use.

Telecommunications infrastructure development is a key priority area for the Government of PNG as it looks to further increasing the number of people who are connected and able to participate in an every-growing digital economy.
