Health Secretary Dr. Osborn Liko says lockdown rumors on Social Media are false, and have warned people to stop posting misleading information or face possible arrest.

Dr. Osborn says posting false information is a crime, and only serves to increase anxiety and fear to the public.

The Health Secretary also clarified that only the Controller can authorize a lockdown.

He also dismissed rumors of clinics shutting down their services in fear of the current spike of COVID-19 positive cases report

He says all clincs will remain open, and provide normal services.

Meantime, Dr. Osborn advises the public to avoid overcrowding in public areas, and to remain indoors to curb the spread of COVID-19.

He says NCD is already experiencing a rise in cases, and could expect more reported cases as the public gather in huge numbers when paying their respects to the late Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare.
