STUDENT ASSOCIATION HELPS OUT IN COVID SITUATION

The Eastern Highlands Adventist Students Association in its first week covid appeal has raised a total amount of K73, 800 to assist the Eastern Highlands provincial health authority.
President of the association Jamol Hogi, has told FM100 news this morning that the funds has been used to purchase hundred oxygen cylinders for covid patients at the Goroka Hospital.
He says so far 60 bottles of oxygen bottles have been transported by Mapai Trucking Services up to Goroka Hospital. Another 40 are still to be transported.
Mapai Truck Service is a sponsor in this appeal; and Mr Hogi says also OK Tedi Mining Limited has come on board to support the appeal.
Mr. Hogi says last Saturday Mapai Truck Service donated 500 oxygen cylinders while; OK Tedi Mining Ltd has today announced that it will also support the drive.
The association is currently working closely with the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority to fight against covid 19 surge in the province as the number of covid-related deaths increase.
