Six deaths reported in NCD during Christmas period

Six Homicide cases have been reported to police in the Nation’s Capital since Christmas Eve.

The latest is of a young man whom police believe was killed while crossing the main road opposite the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Police investigations have only begun but what investigators found weird was that the young man was found dead in the middle of the road in his underwear, while the rest of his clothes were on the footpath a few meters away.

The young man has been identified to be in his 20s and his from the Mortlock area of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

Police believe the deceased was held up and stripped off his cloths, fearing of his live, he broke free but was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Police are now calling for eye witnesses to come forward with information that can lead to the apprehension of involved.

Meanwhile, the four other reported deaths are alcohol related, while the 5th is a result of a break and enter incident.
