MINISTER BRUSH ASIDE RUMORS ON LOCK DOWN IN NCD

Health and HIV/AIDS minister Jelta Wong has brushed aside rumors on Social Media claiming that the National Capital District was transiting into another period of lockdown.

The ministers responds comes after claims on social  media  that NCD will be on lockdown after the city reported its second locally transmitted Covid-1 case yesterday.

This now brings the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases to 11.

Mr. Wong says there will be no lockdown as claimed, and hinted that the new restrictions will be more relaxed with much focused to be on the containment area.

Mr. Wong says the rapid response team will also be going around doing random testing on all supermarkets just to analyze and see if they have a collective permitted transmission.

He says contract tracing is underway in NCD on everyone who came into contact with the three positive Covid-19 case, for isolating and testing.

Meanwhile, the recent case in Port Moresby is a 26 year old female who is established to have been a close contact of the previous case, the female PNGDF personnel.

He says the Australia Defence Force member safely returned to Australia on Wednesday with the assistance of the Australian Government.
