Relief supplies for locals affected by the recent landslide in Saki village in Goilala, central province arrived this morning.

Reports from ground also state that 11 people were buried alive and so far only two bodies have been retrieved.

Joe Oboda Gaida from the central provincial disaster office says they will continue working closely with the DDA to retrieve bodies of those trapped in the thick layer of mud and debris.

Meantime the relief supply is part of the response from Central District Development Authority's (DDA) to almost 3000 people affected by the land slip.

The delivery of relief items complements the response of the provincial government who were able to contribute quickly by dispatching the supplies.

Mr. Gaida says the relief supplies consist of Shelters, Rice, Tin Fish as well as cooking sets.

He says these items will be distributed to the most vulnerable families and individuals who have lost all their belongings in the landslide.
